Link of the day: Operation British 8 Bit Gundam Remix!

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Hey all…

I know a lot of you are Gundam fans (nerds!) and don’t like to pass up free stuff, and I know a lot of you are into old-school 8 bit games, so catch the fever and check out this 8 bit remix jam made up of various choice Gundam themes:

Operation British has been completed! Master Hatchet carried out the operation successfully, covering every UC Gundam theme in a chiptune style, and even a few other mecha shows, like Gurren Lagann or Macross. 14 chiptunes all at once! Can the Federation handle such a monstrous force? Download now and find out. Sieg Zeon!

It is available for download at this page.

Please note that it also includes some of the stuff we’re selling here at the store. *hint hint*

;)

Have fun!!

Gintama to continue!!!

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

Despite the strong inference of staff members and fan sites, Gintama will be continuing with a fourth season.

Gintama

I know I’m chuffed. Pants are tightening a bit, actually…

Anyway, fans shall receive more Gintama goodness in the Fall. Keep in mind that a certain site that you’re already on happens to have A LOT OF GINTAMA DOUJIN FOR SALE AT 30% OFF WHEN YOU ENTER THE COUPON CODE* right now.

I think that it’s going to be a hell of a Spring and Summer for 2009 between this, Full Metal Alchemist’s new show, and the high-anticipated Haruhi sequel.

RAR!

* = recession is the coupon code. Because, um, we’re in a damned recession.

SALE’S ON…. WE CAN HAZ DISKCOUNTZ!!

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Enjoying your recession, lay-off, fear for the future?

I certainly am, except for the fact that my savings are going to hell because I live where rent is sky-high and the job market is filled with people that have a good 10 years of experience on my 3-4 months… but hey, why not throw a sale in the interim?

Right now Tokyogetter is offering 30% off everything that we have listed on our website here. The coupon code is recession, all-lower case, and you enter it upon check-out. We still have tons of books up and about, OK? So get on it.

Sorry to be so brief here, but I’m still enjoying the triumphant rush that came from SLAYING The Pillows classic Ride on Shooting Star at Anime on Display’s Karaoke event this past weekend in SF.

:)

Coupon code: recession
Where: Tokyogetter.com
What: 30% off everything
Why: ‘Cuz I love you.

Finally, Kyon animation puts out something new related to Haruhi…

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Too bad it kinda sucks it.

This new 4 min. 30 second video
was posted today on Kadokawa’s animation channel on youtube, much to the delight and anticipation of many dedicated (read: BATSHIT INSANE) Haruhi fans.

How do we feel about it at TG headquarters?

MEH.

As Big Worm taught us oh so many Fridays ago, messing with a fan’s love of Haruhi is like messing with their emotions. Come on Kyoani, you have the plot and should have the resources to get rolling on this. Don’t act like you don’t want to build a MONSTER franchise, either. You need it, we want it… simple math, baby!

Perhaps it’s the post-con tiredness that is making me say this, but If this second season doesn’t rule a lot of folks will be taking their balls, piling ‘em into the Civic, and going home.

Don’t blow it, Kyoani.

Rumiko Takahashi brings out a new comic in Shonen Sunday this Spring in a desperate attempt to make me forget Inu Yasha.

Rumiko Takahashi

Japan’s most ‘EFF YOU’ money manga-ka will be bringing out a new work in Shonen Sunday. Inu Yasha ended last June, and aside from some cool memorial projects she’s been pretty quiet.

Let’s hope that she’s doing well and proceeds to bring the awesome.
